Pushkars on Broad Street, Birmingham, is truly a gem when it comes to traditional and authentic Indian cuisine. The flavours are absolutely amazing, and the vibrant ambience makes it the perfect place for a special occasion, a celebration, or even a memorable date night. The menu is diverse with plenty of options, and the drinks selection is just as impressive. I would highly recommend the Tokri Chaat starter – it’s such a unique and modern twist on a traditional favourite, and it really stood out for me. We were hosted by Rakesh (Rocky), who was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and that all our needs were catered for. Rocky truly represented the restaurant in the best possible way – thank you, Rocky, for making our evening so special. Pushkars isn’t just about great food – it carries a rich history as one of the pioneering curry houses on Broad Street. Having celebrated my first anniversary here, it will always hold a special place for me. The menu, the service, and the overall vibe were so good that I just had to write this review. Pushkars is, without a doubt, a must-visit restaurant in Birmingham!

I had a fantastic experience at Pushkar Restaurant in Birmingham, even more impressive given that it was a busy Saturday night and we arrived without a reservation. Despite the crowd and buzzing atmosphere, the staff were warm, welcoming, and efficient, making us feel genuinely looked after rather than rushed. There was a real sense of energy in the restaurant, which only added to the enjoyment of the evening. The standout dish was the lamb biryani — absolutely superb. The lamb was perfectly tender, richly spiced, and generously portioned, while the rice was fragrant and beautifully layered with flavour. Each bite felt carefully balanced, comforting yet full of depth, and it was clear a lot of care went into its preparation. It’s easily one of the best biryanis I’ve had in Birmingham. Overall, Pushkar delivered excellent food, great service, and a lively atmosphere, even under the pressure of a packed Saturday service. The fact that they managed to accommodate us without a booking and still maintain such high standards says a lot. I’ll definitely be returning — next time, I might even try to book ahead!

We recently visited Pushkar after planning to dine at a different restaurant nearby and I am so glad we did. Despite not having a reservation we were immediately seated. The restaurant inside is contemporary and well finished. As you walk through you get burst of a refreshing room fragrance which adds to the overall experience. I'd love to know what fragrance this is. The menu is varied and has a good selection of dishes. Our server was very helpful and offered advice and recommendations. In the end we opted for the banquet menu to get a good selection of dishes and flavours. We were all very satisfied with the quality and taste of the dishes. Some even exceeded expectations. The service was also excellent - friendly and efficient without being too overbearing. The only negatives were the location we were seated (table 2) was very cold. The constant breeze meant our food went cold very quickly. We were also unfortunate enough to visit at the same time as a very rowdy group. I am looking forward to visiting again and hopefully having another lovely evening.

We recently visited Pushkar, and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had! Everything was absolutely perfect from the food to the service to the overall atmosphere. We ordered kebabs and curries, and they were incredibly flavorful and delicious. The staff were all wonderful, especially Meet, who went above and beyond to ensure all our requests were taken care of. Highly recommend!

Attended a fantastic business lunch event here on Broad Street and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of the experience. Arriving just after noon, I had the chance to appreciate the stunning interior before the venue filled up - and within fifteen minutes, the place was absolutely heaving with guests. The interior design is spectacular - a real feast for the eyes that creates an impressive backdrop for any occasion. The space manages to feel both elegant and welcoming, striking the perfect balance for corporate events and social dining. Rai Singh and his team delivered exceptional service throughout the event. Despite managing a large group that filled the venue quickly, the staff remained attentive, professional, and friendly. The coordination was seamless, which speaks volumes about their experience with events. The meal itself was absolutely incredible - genuinely a feast for both eyes and stomach. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors lived up to the visual appeal completely. The quality and variety demonstrated real culinary expertise, and every dish was executed to perfection. The venue handled our sizeable networking group with remarkable efficiency while maintaining the high standards you'd expect from a premium cocktail bar and dining establishment. For anyone considering Pushkar for events, business meals, or special occasions, I can't recommend it highly enough.

This was the best Indian cuisine experience we've had. As a Mexican and citizen of the world, (used to spicy or mild spicy and elaborated dishes) I must advice you to give it a shot and ask for the lamb dishes and ask for Nihar's attention which was SUPERB! CHEERS EVERYONE !

I am visiting after 2 years and the renovated decor looks stunning! Food was really good and I would recommend the Kaali mirch chicken, onion kulcha and the special lamb curry! I will definitely come back using first table discount. Service was very friendly and attentive. My only negative remark is the menu is pricey.

This place has always been a special place, had lots of good memories here including dates and graduation parties etc. So we decided to visit after the revamp. Lets get critical. From the outside the restaurant looked closed, as the restaurant ambience is now darkened, was hard to tell if they were open. Didn't see any open sign either. We were greeted instantly and there was only one other couple inside. The new Menu is a polished version of their old menu. I told the manager I was carb conscious and on a diet so he recommended the mixed grill (platter for two) which I took and was delicious, each item on the plate is unique in flavour. The extra side salad was appreciated. Lamb chops the best around and done properly. Having the biryani pastry cut open infront of you is a nice touch and nice to watch. What was quite embarrassing for this restaurant is Birmingham mail quote "Birmingham restaurant reopens after making half-a-million-pound change 'to survive" yet the blue dinner plates we dined with were labelled from ikea on the back. Guys your decor is amazing so don't cut corners here. Attention to detail on everything is needed when customers are paying premium and you want them to return back. Two people is £100 here but will happily pay again as the food was quality.
